Children's Advocate A Beautiful Lady Who Speaks Beautifully But...

Jamaicans continue to wonder why they cannot get a higher level of service from both the private and the public sector. It seems to me that the whole nation is on a go slow. Often times we hear leaders making public statements showing their concerns about the state of things, but things seem to get worse by the day.

Years ago I brought to the attention of the police, the Children Advocates, the media and others, that a car was left locked up with a baby inside at Lee's Supermarket on Red Hills Road. The gentleman who had access to the car told me that I could not do anything about it and he was so right. This matter has been brought to the attention of quite a number of leaders and heads of organizations in this country and as far as I know, no action has yet been taken.

I am convinced that we have too many lazy persons who are leading organizations and they lack creativity, they lack the will to get things done, and they are just comfortable getting a big salary.

Tonight as I watch the Children's Advocate giving her usual condemnation of the killing of a minor, I said to myself, "What has changed?" As I watched the news on TV tonight, I remember that child who was looked up in that car in the car park at Lee's Supermarket over two years ago.

Video of the child locked in the car.

What we get from our leaders is plenty statements and condemnations of incidents rather that decisive action to fix the system. Listen to the Children's Advocate who sounds very passionate when she speaks but that is all it is about, beautiful speeches from a beautiful lady. I would love to hear what action has been taken to deal with the man who left that child locked up in a car:

Last week we heard the story about a grown man who got a 13 year old girl pregnant some years ago and the girl had to drop out of school. This man tuned around and killed this woman out of jealousy I understand. What kind of society do we live, which allows a grown man to get a minor pregnant, got away with it and now he has murdered the woman.

What a country, what a life!!!

Greetings my brother... I fully agree with your comments but I believe it needs to be directed to the Ministry of Youth & Government. The Children's Advocate is restrained by Law, Policy & Staff. Just like the Police, Health & Education. The system is not focused on equal opportunity & full equality for all Jamaicans. Thats where change need to occur. Blessings ⛪🕆💡
