Major Dudley Beek Dies in Plane Crash

Major Dudley Beek

Major Dudley Beek lost his life in a plane crash on Friday, May 5, 2023. It has been four generations of pilots from his grandfather to his father Victor Beek who was the first commanding officer of the JDF Air Wing. Reports are that he was en route from Tinson Pen to Boscobel in his Ercoupe, when it went down in St. Mary near Highgate. The student who was with him survived the crash but he suffered serious injuries.

The men were airlifted to the University of the West Indies Hospital where it was confirmed that Dudley had passed on. The JDF and police officers have secured the crash site and investigations into the crash should get underway soon. It is expected that the Civil Aviation Authority(CAA) will lead the investigations. Rohan Campbell is acting as head of the CAA because Mr. Nari Williams-Sing is on secondment to the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Authority).
