Two Killed Including a Fireman - Enough is Enough!

I just received a report of a double murder in St. Mary which occurred today at 0130 hours EST, at Free Hill, in St. Mary.

A 25-year-old woman was at home with her common law husband Mr Barrington Clarke, 26 years old,  when they heard loud explosions sounding like gun shots coming from down stairs. Shortly after she heard a knock on her door and someone said, “Police, open the door!”

Mr Barrington Clarke proceeded to open the door when men barged into the room. The men asked for TK but when their question was unanswered they fired several shots hitting Mr. Barrington Clarke. The woman was instructed to run and she did. The men then left in a waiting motor car.

The woman then went to get assistance from her neighbour, Gary Samuel 48 years old fire fighter, who lived in a lower section of the house, where she saw him lying on the ground faced down in his room suffering from what appears to be gunshot wounds.

She later received assistance from members of the community. Mr. Barrington Clarke was rushed to the Port Maria Hospital.  Upon the arrival of the Police at the Port Maria Hospital, the lifeless body of Mr. Clarke was seen lying on its back on a stretcher. The lifeless body of Mr. Samuels was also seen lying face down.

Several empty 9mm casing and one live round was seen near the fire fighter’s lifeless body.

The police were early on the scene along with members of the Fire Brigade.

The government and the people need to unite now and act to deal with the scourge of crime which is destroying our nation. It is putting the overstretched health sector under more pressure. It is affecting the mental health of the nation.

Let me hear from you what strategies and actions can be taken now to deal with this crisis. Crime is our number one problem in the country. All of us will have to be a part of the solution.

Missa D and readers the Crime Industry is one of the fastest growing industries in Jamaica.
It accounts for at least 10% of GDP.

Agriculture at 8% of GDP needs to grow faster.

You are correct to stem crime growth a national mass movement beginning with awareness is most appropriate.

Start with the Colleges and schools.
What is Crime?.
Any behaviour that attracts a fine or imprisonment.

At this point MOST OF US JAMAICANS ARE CRIMINALS.
Enough is Enough lets do something about that.
Start with CONSCIOUSNESS from the top to the bottom of society males and females all age groups class and status included.

What else is to be said about violent crime in Jamaica? Once again we need to adopt & adapt the Singapore model of the 70s / 80s. It can and will work in Jamaica if our leaders have the will to solve our problems. They continue to fiddle, follow poor suggestions and make excuses.

Earnestly, the PM and the ruling administration will fail at crime fighting because they them selves are perceived by the majority to be illicit in their execution of the people's business. They for most parts, wreak with hypocrisy.πŸ™ˆπŸ™‰πŸ™Š
