A major problem in this case where the mentally ill man took away the policeman's gun in Half Way Tree over the weekend Is how we deal with mentally ill persons roaming the streets some of which are very dangerous.This is not the first time one of them have done some thing life threatening to citizens and it happens all over Jamaica. Do you remember that highly publicized case in Buckfield Ocho Rios shown on television the policeman shooting the mentally ill man on the ground. It is sheer luck in halfway tree that the man did not empty the magazine on more members of the public causing death and more mayhem. Mentally ill persons must be removed from the streets as a matter of health, decency and security or it will happen again and again.04/08/14
