FiWiConcerns 20160420 - Michael Spence

Where Are They Going

What are we going to do everybody soon gone, teachers, nurses, doctors, plumbers, drivers, carpenters, masons, mechanics, helpers and students? As for Canada with a population of 35 million, about 2   Jamaica sizes larger than USA having a population of  315 million. Do the math, Canada needs able bodied people to ensure the growth, maintenance and development of their society and they will pay for it. Canada has a population problem in reverse and could take all of CARICOMs 8 million much less Jamaica 3million, even the unskilled old, young and uneducated could be used as fillers and the surface not yet scratched. That is what you call self preservation so what are we as a country planning to do to ensure Jamaicas  self preservation.20/04/16

 Free Trade With Cuba

What is preventing Jamaica having a free trade and travel agreement with Cuba with a population of 11 million? Caricom is 8 million with more stress and embarrassment to develop and maintain. Cuba is only one place and much nearer than say Trinidad or Barbados.20/04/16

Supt. McGregor

Superintendent McGregor now Montego Bay trying his best but Central Kingston and West Kingston where he was before is not a good comparison to St James. The terrain is not as rapidly accessible and the rural mind set is not same as Kingston. There is a discipline called Rural Sociology he needs that kind of assistance and a helicopter in his arsenal for rapid response. Double or triple the District constables some trained in dispute resolution along with other persons are a necessity in St James. Of paramount importance are embedded intelligence and an improvement in the western economy and just let his people all have a smart phones.19/04/16

That Radar Gun

Have you all seen the police posing with Radar Guns like new toys in one of our newspapers, do they even know that there are health risks like testicular and other cancers associated with their use and what are the safety precautions to protect them from radar gun hazards? They should demand a hazard pay even though money can’t buy life. All the state and the political representatives ever talk about are traffic fines .What about our police family who are exposed should we be prepared to sue the state in the event of any radar hazards befalling those who swear to serve protect and reassure.18/04/16
 Caricom
A writer in one of our newspapers referring to Jamaica's governance said "with failed, stagnant policies, economic peril assured", was quite  rough but  realistic. "No team of economists"? Not exactly, but tax and borrow economists in abundance. Caricom, partner or  associates? Because as it turns out Jamaica is the only partner partnering with it as the treaties are ignored by everybody else. Caricom is 8million mainly broke pocket people small market so someone is going to get shafted and that is Jamaica. We should create a new Caricom to include Mexico, Venezuela, Cuba, and Brazil or at best negotiate beneficial bilateral arrangements with each country. There is no reason why Jamaica's 3million over governed people having 63 MPs,228 councillors,14 mayors and equal numbers of deputies several DONs and at least 20 ministers people cannot prosper. Do not forget also numerous consultants and hangers on to the quasi colonial Kingston government and their affiliates.116/04/16
