A team of JDF soldiers and JCF
police yesterday discovered one home-made shotgun and a tube of C4 plastic high
explosives during a Cordon and Search operation in Trench Town, Kingston.
According to the JDF, a Cordon
and Search operation was conducted in parts of Trench Town early yesterday
morning, when a house on Lower 2nd Street was searched for
contraband. The joint military and police team then discovered a home-made shot
gun with two live twelve gauge cartridges and one 18” tube of C4 plastic
explosives in the ceiling of the house. The items were taken into custody by
the police who also detained a number of men in connection with the find.
The JDF is concerned about the
discovery of C4 because of its sheer destructive power and limited use in most
civilian applications.
