I have just received information from a very reliable source that the drug Ivermectin 3 mg is now in stock at one of our major distributors. The cost is expected to be over $16,000 per box .The product will only be sold in pharmacies.
Pharmacist will be required to report any unlabelled use of the product and Any Adverse Event to the Ministry of Health via the PharmaWatch link on the MOH website.
The President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Jamaica Dr. Winsome Christie has for sometime now, been calling on the government to look into the possibility of getting the Ivermectin dug into the island for the treatment of Covid-19. There has been quite a bit of controversy surrounding the possible importation of this drug. It has been pointed out that hospitals has been able to get the drug into the island for their patients who needed this drug urgently.
