Anthony Davis for Travelling The World With Vernon Derby

My guest on Travelling The World (Nationwide Radio) on Wednesday, November 17, at 0900 EST, will be Anthony Davis. He is the former Director of Sport UTech Ja. Anthony is now a Freelance Sport Administration Consultant.

Anthony is a Kingston College, UTech Ja, Springfield College, Springfield, Massachusetts USA graduate. He received the Bachelor of Science in Sport Management. from Springfield College.

He has managed major national track and field competitions over the years since 1990. Anthony was the Competition Director and Chairman for the IAAF/ Coca Cola World Junior Championships in Athletics 2002 (1,800 participants from 167 countries). 

He represented Jamaica as Chef-de Mission for national university teams to World University Games in:

  • Spain - 1999
  • Beijing in China - 2001
  • Shenzhen in China - 2011
  • Kazan in Russia - 2013
  • Gwangju in South Korea - 2015
  • Taipei - 2017
  • Napoli in Italy - 2019. 

 Anthony Davis has held quite a few positions in the world of sport in Jamaica:

  • Member of the Organizing committee of Inter-Secondary School Sports Association (ISSA) annual Boys and Girls Track and field Championships 2005 – Present and Competition Director and Meeting Manager 2016 to present. 
  • President Jamaica Intercollegiate Sports Association 2010 – 2014. 
  • University Sports Federation (FISU).  
  • Executive Board Member 2015 – 2019.  
  • Education Committee Member for the Study of University Sport 2011 – 2015.  
  • President, Caribbean University Sports Association,(CUSA) 2009 – 2011. 
  • General Secretary Jamaica Intercollegiate Sports Association 2009 – 2010.
