Listen To a Public Servant Reprimanding the Political Directorate

I was in shock after listening to this clip of the news. A public servant is a public servant and not a master of the people. I did not know that a public servant could describe members of the political directorate like that. Recently a senior police officer called some citizens cowards. I can understand how this officer felt because he felt that the police officers were not being supported by some citizens. He had to apologize!

Will this public servant get away with those comments about parish councillors? The President of the Police Federation has been interdicted because he levelled certain criticisms of his superiors.

Let's see what will happen. Wen yu big yu big! I had challenges with this public servant in the past and I will not forget what he did to me. He knows and I know why he is so powerful. The whole nation has been complaining about the work of the NWA. Those councillors were just expressing their frustrations.

You cannot take the heat in the kitchen, you cannot cook. You cannot cook, then pack your bags and go. It will be interesting to see how this matter is dealt with in the next few days. Will he be asked to apologise like the St. Catherine top cop? Dat will neva happen!!!

Jackass sey di worl no lebel.

  2. You should say what reprimand means to you. The councillors were reprimanded, rebuked, lambasted, accused, or berated.....a run out of words. A decision was taken to teach them a lesson.

    1. None of the words you listed describe what i heard from Mr. Shaw. He merely described what has been happening and is telling us that the Councillors have; on occassions, abused the NWA reps and have acted in a rude and out of order manner. Both sets of persons need to be able to behave in a civil manner and be respectful. Neither is above the other. Lots of us walk with our egos on our shoulders and nothing constructive can be resolved that way - it is not about us - it is about Jamaica's business. You Mr. Derby have had some issue in the past with this particular public servant and you are still hanging on to same and it seem to have clouded your response in this regard.

  3. I have been asking for years, why Mr. Shaw has been selected to speak on one of the most important portfolio of the government...one closest to the people. This portfolio should be for an Elected person not a Selected one. And thats why he is like this....he thinks he is a Minister. Time come for him to go!!

  4. Unless he is not telling the truth he has done nothing wrong. Why should any public servant not state if politicians have been abusive and rude? Tired of Jamaicans pretending that these politicians supposed to be on a pedestal. They have to EARN my respect and Since I want nothing from them I will speak out.

    1. During my time as a public servant I was not ask to attend parish council meeting because I was directed to speak with only the MP. When I counselor call I would ask them if they have a letter from the MP with the project proposal

  5. Look at the state of the parish councils across Jamaica. Anyone can build a “shop” out of plywood and sticks literally in the roadway and the parish councilors look the other way. You have restaurants built of plywood on the sea wall in Port Antonio. You have shipping containers on the side of the road being used for shops. Where are the parish councils who should enforce our building code? So, we have lawbreakers in every aspect of Jamaican life, with no one to bring us back to the days when we lined up orderly for the bus. Now you have the bus companies employing pushers to push people onto the bus. Unless we get hold of the all around lawlessness we will not get control of the major crimes.

  6. I heard the interview from which the clip was taken. Assuming the comments of the interviewee to be true - what shocked me is that the top public servant / politician thought that the best way to deal with rude councillors was to absent the NWA team from the meetings! Then what? Service to the people be damned?! Really! And can we not find decent people to run as councillors - must they be either rude or dead. “The people” better realize that they deserve better and insist on it.
