Is it a bird? |
I sometimes get the strangest calls, and today was no exception. I received a call with the bizarre news that a man had been shot during a bird hunt. My first reaction was disbelief—I thought, "This must be fake news. How could a man get shot while bird hunting? Was he sitting in a tree, or was he somehow flying above?" The whole thing seemed absurd to me. I couldn't help but think, "Surely no one could mistake a man for a bird, right? The man would be on the ground, and bird hunters typically aim their guns at the sky."
When my friend shared this unbelievable story with me, I was convinced he was joking. I asked, "Who could possibly mistake a man for a bird?" My friend had no more details; he was just passing on the message he had received. The victim, he said, was Anthonio Davis, a 38-year-old wood carver from my parish Trelawny. But strangely, the name of the person responsible for the shooting wasn't mentioned.
Later that night, I got another call about the incident, and rumours were already starting to spread. I couldn’t help but think, "Mr. Officer, you’d better conduct a thorough investigation—you can't afford to mess this one up!"

ReplyDeleteDo you recall a certain politician was alleged to have had his eyes shot out by another alleged politician.
ReplyDeleteAs always no one was able to ascertain the exactitude of those upper middle class perpetrated circumstances.
The expert case writers have put this one together.
The worst case is manslaughter if he dies, unauthorized possession of a firearm and ammunition, wounding or no charge if medical care/funeral.
As always when members of the upoer middle class are the perpetrators you depend on rumors for stories.
One thing is sure is that the "fake bird" was a
hu- man with name and address in Trelawny.
This kind of incident has happened before with no responsibility attributed to the perpetrator because it is brushed aside as an accident. This and other similar incidents are not accidents, but man's way of settling grudges among acertain class of people. Later on these same people joke about these incidents as if they its alright to cover up certain types of evil then joke about them. We need to remember that is not the gunman alone evil and needs exposure, but that all acts that harm another is evil so we can move towards a just society.
ReplyDeleteWow! Sir Vernon, these Pop - up mini stories keep on springing up out of nowhere, I thought this was really a very big joke. However; what could this gentleman could have done to be given so an raw- deal or is that we have becomes so heartless that as a little arugument develop we start to plan how to get rid of the person, so there will be no Trace of their Evil schemes or sometime to teach them a lesson as if they are the parent of these person's. Is the minister of Security going get to the bottom of this with immediate attention? What a very wicked incident and this keeps being hiding under the carpet, as if nothing happened. I pray and hope this will be a very speedy resolution 🤔.
