PM To Take Action Against PNP Members Who Defamed Him

Press Release From The Jamaica Labour Party - 20240919
Prime Minister Andrew Holness

Prime Minister and Party Leader, the Most Honourable, Andrew Holness, has instructed his attorneys to initiate legal action against senior members of the PNP who on September 19, 2024 convened a media conference and made several false and defamatory statements about when he came into awareness of an Integrity Commission probe concerning illicit enrichment.

Senator Abka Fitz-Henley, a member of the Jamaica Labour Party's Communication taskforce confirmed the instructions given by the Prime Minister and Party Leader to his legal team.

"Should they not take the approriate action, lawsuits will be filed against the PNP members who made the false statements and without any credible basis defamed the Prime Minister concerning the question of when he came into awareness of an illicit enrichment probe", Senator Fitz-Henley commented.

Senator Fitz-Henley reiterated that the Prime Minister spoke the truth when he indicated to the media on August 17, 2023 that he was not aware of any member of the Jamaica Labour Party being written to by the Integrity Commission with an indication that they are under investigation for illicit enrichment.

"The Prime Minister and Party Leader takes his reputation seriously and will not allow members of the PNP to attempt to use false and malicous statements to destroy his character in their desperate bid for political power", Senator Fitz-Henley reiterated.

The Jamaica Labour Party also restates its concern about the appearance that members of the PNP have unique access to information from the Integrity Commission.

The Party restates its call for the PNP to indicate how it will address a revelation in a recent newspaper report that at least five of their members, including a senior official, are under investigation for illicit enrichment.

  1. Typical Trump playbook. By suing someone, Andrew is trying his utmost best to suck up all the oxygen room, hoping this will help to divert the attention away from him and his sad case of affairs and drive fear into others who may want to speak out publicly on this most egregious matter on the integrity facing the leader of this country, Jamaica. Start packing Brogad, 'cause time come!!!✊

    1. You speak with utter confidence like Trump himself. Do you think that people of integrity in this country are going to roll over and accept the willingness of power seekers to destroy Jamaica? Think again. You might end up facing more felony charges than Trump.

    1. You can't prescribe the bible to people who hold it upside down for a Photo Op. Kartel being hailed as innocent and welcomed with open arms to the PNP Conference is the last straw for me. Norman Manley's Party is now dead.
