The People's Incentive Act 2024?

Contributed

There is a dispute going on at Royalton Hotel in Jamaica. The Jamaican people must know that we make sacrifices for these hotels and we make very little.

The Jamaican people must know that under the Hotel Incentives Act these properties pay NO DIRECT TAXES, NO DUTIES ON IMPORTS FOR 10-15 YEARS AND THAT IS RENEWABLE ON REFURBISHING. ONLY THE SLAVES/Workers ON THESE HOTEL PLANTATIONS or PAY INCOME TAX.

The least these hotel beneficiaries of Jamaica's free ride to prosperity is pay a fair decent wage and due respect.

If foreign businesses can get a facility of no taxes. This should be done for all the people of Jamaica and local businesses.

I am for the abolition of direct income taxes for all in Jamaica as a People's Incentives Act 2024.

Andrew wants to win the next election and even if he doesn't he has nothing to lose. If he does that he has my vote immediately.

Can you imagine an indirect salary increase for every teacher, nurse, hotel worker, police, soldier, talk show host, small business and large locally owned at large.

More money available for investments, and consumption would drive the economy. Taxes lost are collected by the most efficient GCT.

Marky G can promise it at least if Andrew does not do it first.

That Peoples Incentives Act 2024 would be the πŸ‘Œ gift for the Jamaican people locally and in the diaspora.

  1. Excellent suggestion..the sooner we accept that governments since independence is not about empowering the mass of black jamaicans....our parliamentarians have replaced the former colonizers and the planter class and their handling of our affairs is worst than slave owners who at least valued us as property....only one mistake in your article...it's Marky B..B for British...
