Secure Your Cell Phones, Your Funds and Your Relationships

I have posted information on Bark Di Trute previously about securing the information on your cellular phone and also your computers, but I don't believe many people have taken this seriously.

Persons who have lost significant sums from their bank accounts could be due to unsecured information on their phones.

Assuming that you have sensitive information on your phone, such as bank information, x-rated pictures, and pictures of your side chick or guy, these are some rules to follow:

  1. Do not lend your cell phone to anyone. Anyone means even your spouse.
  2. Do not allow anyone to send a request to your phone asking you to send them a generated code.
  3. Do not give out your phone to be repaired, and share your password with the repairman.
  4. Put your phone in repair mode before giving it out to be serviced. Persons can access your banking information and also download all your contacts. Your contact information can then be sold to persons.
  5. Change the password on your phone every six months. Use an 8-char password with a mixture of upper-case and lower-case letters, numbers, and symbols.
  6. Use a VPN service.
  7. Install an antivirus programme.
  8. Do not access confidential information over public wifi.
  9. Ensure that the phone software is updated.
  10. Encrypt the data on your phone.
  11. Back up your phone information.
  12. Do not allow anyone to stand close to you when you are at the cashier in a supermarket. You are very vulnerable at this point. You might end up leaving your phone on the counter, and the person next to you picks it up while you are still logged into the phone.
  13. Ensure that your phone (android) is linked to your Google account. This will enable you to track your phone, lock it or wipe the data from your phone if it is stolen. If your phone is linked to your Google account, then even if you lose your phone, you will still have your contacts, pictures, calendar, and other information. Other services can give similar support.
Our phone contains very important and sensitive information, so ensure that your data is secured. There is plenty of information online to assist you. Don't wait until it is too late.
