What has the world come to? Now you will find people with no class anywhere. I understand that a journalist asked Mr. Volodymyr Zelenskyy why he did not wear a suit to the White House. Am I to believe that because people in western countries wear suits, the whole world should follow?
I was waiting to see if he would ask Mr. Zelensky if he was wearing his underpants. The arrogance of some people is unbelievable. The journalist is no different from those in other countries, where they dictate to women to cover up their faces.
A pointing finger can be threatening. If I were the leader of a country and certain courtesy and level of decorum could not be guaranteed, I would not be caught dead in that country.
Mr. Zelenskyy is lucky he is not a coloured person. He could have been deported to Haiti.

Of course a suit does not solidify manhood however in this context concerning Mr Trump and Mr Zelensky having a professional one and one in the Oval office one would expect some form of professional decorum which from my perspective translate into one of the lowest moments caught on camera in the oval office, it is also my belief that in dressing as Mr Zelensky did subconsciously he thought he was back home dealing with his day to day affairs with his pairs, sometimes dressing for the occasion causes one to also behave accordingly.
ReplyDeleteMy friend the man is the head of a country, and so is the president of the United States. None is superior to the other. Suit and tie is a relic of our colonial heritage. Don't forget that for Africans to wear their natural hairstyle years ago, it was thought not to be appropriate for official occasions in the US. May black women processed their hair and end up damaging their hair and their scalps. It shows that the effects of colonialism is still with us. The journalist was rude to ask that question at that occasion. It was not relevant to why the man was in the US.
DeleteWe are so brainwashed that as black people we think meeting the President of the United States makes him so special that we would feel diminished if we were not dressed by European standard. We still hold on to the white is right context and what was passed down by while people cannot be changed or challenged. These are the same people who use to rape our grannies so we have to question their so called standards.
DeleteYou should observe the people who are at the BOJ Plantation. They still insist that persons not only wear a tie, but a jacket as well, in addition to adopting other plantation-like, backra behaviours.
DeleteUtterly crap re suit. But who am I..Suit not necessary banish that.
DeleteOne clothed I. Humility and compassion and the other suited in anger and bitterness. Seem like the suited male denigrated the oval office to me and the other elevated the consciousness of those who care
ReplyDeleteEverybody now wants to play out everything in social media and in this case main stream media. Not sure why Trump felt it necessary to have such sensitive issues play out like he did, but I sure it was not intended for the benefit of Zelenski. Happy he stood his ground though...
ReplyDeleteThe mans country is at war and people are concerned about a suit. It was very insensitive. Elon Musk don’t wear a suit and last week he was giving press briefing about DOGE. Double standard. What I saw was bulling by the President and Vice President. Anybody they think is weak, or in a lesser position, they push them down.
ReplyDeleteThe comment above is the best!!!

ReplyDeleteI'm Austrian Rosina Christina Moder who wrote the comment above, and I am celebrating 40 years of living in Jamaica. I was brought up by peace loving parents, who went through the tragedy of the Second World War, in the hope that it would have been the last one in Europe!
