Jamaica would be economically better off being a British Overseas Territory (BOT) like Bermuda or the Cayman Islands.
Instead of attempting to reinforce a Kingston-based quasi-colonial administration over all the parishes with a Kingston Republic dictatorship.
Jamaica is the second poorest #2, 3rd most murderous globally, and the fourth most illiterate in the Caribbean. This election time is like a noisy dancehall hyped country heading in an unproductive direction. The Crime Industry (CI)now competes with tourism and remittances for supremacy. Not agriculture, manufacturing, or mining.
The PM boasts of their investments of Ja$90 billion in the legitimate sector of the CI.
"Idle dawg worry sheep", the country needs to focus on real production and not more vehicle imports to fuel the Motorized Pyramid Scheme Economics (MPSE) where all you needed to finance the JAD1.3 trillion budget was an average 130,000 tickets at $10,000, so "no new taxes."
Jamaica presently has approximately 600,000 registered vehicles on its roads. In 2015, there were at least 190,000. That's 410,000 more by 2025, or one vehicle to every 4-5 persons in the population.
If a 1-1 ratio is achieved, all direct income taxes could be abolished in the motorized pyramid scheme economy (MPSE)with ease.
How long can this obfuscated, unproductive MPSE survive without collapsing? A new productive economic direction is desirable at this time.

Editor's Note:
We do not produce oil and the importation of oil fuel is not sustainable. Jamaica needs an organized transportation system for the whole country. The pile up of traffic on our roads will result in a significant amount of man-hours lost.
