There was an earthquake tremor at 1407 hours EST. The estimated magnitude was 4.2. It was 8 km south of Bull Bay, Portland. It was felt in Kingston, and I received a report of it being felt in St. Jago Heights in Spanish Town. One person has reported a crack in the wall of his house.
There could be aftershocks, so don't panic and take the necessary precautions.
We hope to get an official report from ODPEM as soon as possible.
Let me know if you felt it in your area and if there was any damage. Give the name of your district and parish. Send messages and pictures to 876 816-5261. You can also add your comments to this blog.
