Press Release From Miss Universe Jamaica—November 21, 2025:
This is an official update regarding the medical condition of Dr. Gabrielle “Gabby” Henry, who remains hospitalised in Thailand. Her sister, Dr. Phylicia Henry-Samuels, who is currently in Thailand with their mother, Maureen Henry, advised the organization on the latest developments.
According to Dr. Henry-Samuels, “Gabby isn’t doing as well as we would have hoped, but the hospital continues to treat her accordingly.”
Medical personnel have further indicated that Gabrielle will be required to remain in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for a minimum of seven (7) days, as doctors continue their close monitoring and specialised care.
During this profoundly difficult time, the Miss Universe Jamaica Organization is earnestly calling on Jamaicans at home and across the Diaspora to continue keeping Gabrielle in their prayers.
We also encourage friends, supporters, and well-wishers worldwide to join in lifting her in love, strength, and hope.
We respectfully ask the public and social media users to avoid sharing negative comments, misinformation, or speculation that may cause further distress to the family.
Our primary focus remains on Gabrielle’s recovery and the well-being of her loved ones. We kindly request continued compassion, sensitivity, and privacy as the family navigates this challenging period.
Editor's Note:
We need to ignore some of these social media hypers. They are searching for likes and recognition.
Let's hope this beautiful and talented young lady returns to Jamaica in good health.

This is more serious than I thought. I pray for a speedy and complete recovery for Gabby. Lord, pls we need your intervention
ReplyDeleteMay God grant Gabrielle full recovery, comfort her loved ones, and bring her back safely home, for long years of service to her country. Prayers continue to ascend on her behalf.🙏
ReplyDeleteThank you for this much needed information on the health status of our contestant, appreciated.
ReplyDeleteWe trust and pray that Gabby will fully recover as quickly as possible.
God’s Speed Gabby, Jamaica is praying for you and your family.
On a totally different note Mr. Derby, I think you need to, if possible, TRY to keep us informed on our Melissa Recovery Plan and Progress - MRPP!! Maybe I’m not tuning in to TVJ or CVM at the correct times but I’m not finding a daily update program.
ReplyDeleteI am aware that CVSS issues alerts where citizens have the opportunity to volunteer with various Organisations.
We all know that citizens, organisations and foundations have been working tirelessly to ensure that help is provided but we are yet to grasp the details of the help that is given, the impact of the help and way forward.
At this stage of this crisis we should not seem so rudderless!! We are dealing with our family members lives. . . Disease is at our door, communities still not reached - why wasn’t the JDF been tasked with addressing and reporting on this issue?
WHAT EXACTLY IS GOING ON? WE, THE PEOPLE ARE CONCERNED AND WE NEED TO BE RELIABLY INFORMED, BY OUR PUBLIC SERVANTS!! The Government is NOT voted in to ‘Do Their Own Thing’.
I'm still very much in shock seeing this very beautiful Jamaican contestant walking so elegantly across the stage, and then disappearing!!! As a performing musician I realize again, how important is the preparation of the stage! How on earth has this dark hole not been corded off???
ReplyDeleteGabby is a daughter of Dr Phillip Henry who who often hosts One heart, one song on R AND Look at life- both on Radio Jamaica on Sunday mornings. May Gabby be fully healed very soon. 💖
