Her Bed Was A Wheelchair For The Night at The Hospital
Can you imagine that a lady who has passed her ninety years had to sit in a wheelchair for a whole night due to space problems at the hospital? The hospital resources and the staff are also under pressure.
I appeal to friends and relatives to be understanding of the situation, which has been aggravated since Hurricane Melissa. I appeal to the management of the hospitals to make public appeals for help, and I am sure that you will get it. We probably need some more tents where patients can be held temporarily.
Can you imagine this old lady in that position for a whole night? She could have developed other complications.

It’s pathetic to see our young ones displaying this kind of behavior most times this display tells the kind of homes they’re from and so they display what they see happening around them, not good not sure how this can be fixed but it cannot continue! On the issue of persons waiting unattended in their wheelchairs all night or day at hospitals is definitely not an unusual occurrence nor is it attributed to the recent hurricane Sir, this has been the norm for a long, long time all around the island. My helper had a breathing problem a year ago journeyed from South St. Elizabeth to the Mandeville hospital got there late evening, was eventually seen by an uncaring and unfriendly nurse who told her she should have gone to the clinic, remember she was unable to breathe, she was finally attended to in the morning, can you imagine she could have died and guess those demons and uncaring nurses would have fabricated some lies to distort the truth, it MUST not continue!! A friend of mine lost his wife she took sick went to the Black River hospital where she sat in a wheelchair for a prolonged period unattended, she passed!! You need to do a survey of the number of cases per hospital and you’d be amazed by the results! We cannot continue like this, it’s inhumane!! Our people deserve better and those at the helm MUST be held accountable!!
