Press Release From The Ministry of Health, April 23, 2026
The Ministry of Health & Wellness is advising members of the public not to consume packaged sugar produced by the Pan Caribbean Sugar Company. This follows, as a preliminary laboratory test has identified metal fragments in samples of this brand of sugar purchased at retail outlets, which may pose a significant health risk if ingested.
The public is therefore asked to safely discard this brand of sugar and await further updates from the Ministry of Health & Wellness.
An immediate stop order has been placed on the production, distribution and sale of all Pan Caribbean Sugar Company products.
Further investigations are underway, and the Ministry of Health and Wellness will provide official updates once laboratory results confirm that any food safety risks have been resolved and the product is safe for consumption.

If you still have the receipt for the sugar, return the sugar to the vendor and ask for a refund. Keep a copy of the receipt just in case you might need it as proof of purchase if you become ill.
The company might have to compensate you for any medical expenses you might incur as a result of using this sugar.
While it is good to put these things on social media, this matter should have been reported to the relevant authorities long ago. If the material in the sugar was poisonous, then several people would have died.
The company should identify the batch numbers to be returned.

ReplyDeleteI usually stick with Worthy Park (WP) packaging as I know they are the real SUGAR (S)people.
ReplyDeleteLast week I didn't see it WP sugar I took up Eve since I am almost sure it's WPS repackaged.
Tell me something wouldn't IRON in SUGAR boist the nutritional value if the sugar.That is like Iron tablets free.
What is the Ministry of Health honestly saying are those cuttings a blessing or a curse.
As a rule I never bought Pan Caribbean sugar.
The Chinese know little about SUGAR so I knew it's only time before Frome would be dead.
Why not go for the Brazilians they use every I art of the SUGAR cane to make from SUGAR to Ethanol to Clothing.
Those are the investors we want in SUGAR is it too late to bring the Brazilians on board.

It was waiting to be poured into my sugar jar😱
I'll be returning it for a refund!
