Jamaica's Sick Morality On Display

The above billboard, placed in Rockfort, should not have been taken down. It is a reflection of society, and taking it down makes us look like hypocrites.

You might ask why it makes us look like hypocrites.

Many Jamaican men have little or no respect for our womenfolk, and many of the womenfolk have little or no respect for themselves.

Sex sells, and the next step is to put up a billboard with two people having sex.

We might have a man posing with this drink next.

We tolerate the dancehall. Many dancehall songs support the acting out of the sex act, just like carnival.

This is a country where men of the cloth sleep with other men and also minors, and in some cases, the women defend them. This is a country where a man sleeps with his three sons. This is the country where a don was convicted because of evidence that was left behind after engaging in certain sexual acts.

Jamaica needs to be cleaned up now. From the home to the school, to the community, to Gordon House and King's House. Then and only then will we have real prosperity.

The moral of this billboard for promotion and advertising: When you have no creativity, remember that sex sells.

It will be interesting to see how many comments this blog will attract. If Bark Di Trute were supporting certain immoral things, I would not have to be begging for support every day.

  1. Real talk. The real creative minds get no support from the society

  2. All that Mr. Derby said is the reality we face, however, I am asking which agency and/or ‘authority’ approved the erecting of this bill board? I’m sure a number of citizens would like to know.
I remember the consternation that followed the erection of the now famous ‘freedom statue’ at the entrance of the Emancipation Park!
Freedom of expression hmmm are there guidelines or does it depend on the strata of society to determine ‘the worthiness’ of the expression?
I may be a prude, I believe certain ‘expressions’ should be reserved for and remain ‘behind closed doors’!
We all know that it might be impossible to sqeeze the genie back in the bottle but to preserve the tattered fragments of our society what are we going to do? Where can we now ‘draw the line’?
ALL the governing agencies are toothless!!
    Broadcasting Commission?? NEPA??
We are a God Blessed, Talented, Brilliant, Awesome People/Nation we witness our National and International Greatness daily therefore, we need Unity in Vision and Direction. WE, THE PEOPLE!! Not the corrupt political system.

  3. It would be the KSAMC that would give approval. The challenge is only a few of us are concerned.

  4. I’m not fully up to speed on the billboard itself, but on the wider question of Jamaica’s morality and hypocrisy, sad to say, you are on point 😢. We often condemn the symptom only after it embarrasses us publicly, while ignoring the deeper rot we have tolerated for years.
