The Political Parties Have Lost Their Tongues On The Julian Chang Issue?

Opposition Leader, Mark Golding

Mrs Julian Chang

Bark Di Trute brought the news to you first about the resignation of Julian Chang from the PNP. It seems that all lips are now sealed. We have not heard from MP Dwayne Vaz or the Opposition Leader Mark Golding.

Chang is very popular in the Savanna La Mar division, and as the former chairman of the party in the Westmoreland Central constituency, her stock is high. The JLP is also silent on this matter. Is the JLP laying out the red carpet for Mrs. Chang, and could she stand a chance against Dwayne Vaz in the next general elections? In the meantime, she will be an independent councillor with the potential to become a JLP councillor.

It is best that we have transparency, or else fake news will run things. Let's hear from the political parties. Bark Di Trute also understands that a PNP councillor-caretaker from Trinityville in St. Thomas has also resigned!

Is it that there is a falling out in the PNP at the grassroots level? We are aware that some PNP members are not supportive of the modus operandi of some PNP members. Is this developing into a rift within the party? Are there challenges to the PNP leader? We are aware of a councillor in St. Catherine who is ready to take over the leadership of the PNP when the trumpet sounds.

The race is on, and while it might seem like the PNP is targeting the JLP heavily at this time, it could be Mark Golding ensuring that he sits comfortably in his seat as party leader. The PNP will also have to consider if they want the PM to always welcome him as the Opposition Leader!

I would love to know what the Bark Di Trute readers think. Please add your comments at the bottom of this blog. The political leaders follow the Bark Di Trute blog
