MURDER/SHOOTING IN ST. THOMAS

May 05, 2019- The St. Thomas Police are probing the shooting death of a man and the injuring of his 7-year-old daughter in Lloyds district, Yallahs, St. Thomas on Sunday, May 05.

The dead man has been identified as Jermaine Kelly, 35-year-old taxi operator of Lloyds district.

Reports from the Yallahs Police are that about 3:40 a.m., Kelly was alerted by a fire at his doorway. While extinguishing the blaze, he was reportedly greeted with gunfire by armed men. The Police were summoned and upon their arrival, Kelly and his daughter were seen with gunshot wounds. They were taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead and the little girl admitted for treatment. She is in serious condition.

The Police are asking anyone with information that can assist in their investigations to contact the Yallahs Police Station at 876-982-5075, Police 119 emergency number or the nearest Police Station.

THREE KILLED IN CRASH IN ST. MARY
May 05, 2019- Three persons died as a result of injuries they sustained after the motorcycle on which they were travelling crashed into a wall on the Oracabessa main road, St. Mary on Sunday, May 05.

The deceased have been identified as:
  • 36-year-old Rodolf Henry,
  • 22-year-old Nicoda Bryan and her sister,
  • 16-year-old Simone Bryan, all of a Hamilton Mountain, St. Mary address.

Reports are that about 3:00 a.m., the females were pillions on a motorcycle being driven by Henry, when he allegedly lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a concrete wall. They received multiple injuries and were taken to hospital where they were pronounced dead.

Motorists are being reminded to obey the road code and drive safely. The Police are also reminding motorcyclists to wear the appropriate gear, including helmets.
