Benefactors In Support of Violet Edwards' Achievement Donate Scholarship Worth JAD1.2 Millions

Mrs. Violet Edwards

The following was extracted from a letter I received from a Jamaican living overseas:

This letter serves to inform you that benefactors acting in recognition of Mrs. Violet Edwards’ historic accomplishment have agreed to extend a scholarship to a suitable undergraduate student at an accredited institution in Jamaica, preferably at the U.W.I. The suitable candidate must be an adult student with demonstrated financial need and a desire to further their education with the goal of earning a bachelor’s degree.

Mrs. Violet Edwards was my guest last Monday on Riddim FM. She is an outstanding Jamaican who obtained her associate degree at the age of 96. I will be working in Jamaica with the overseas benefactors to facilitate this scholarship which values JAD1.2 million.

I will make further announcements as to when application for the scholarship will be open and when the presentation will take place. It is expected that the scholarship will be taken up at a tertiary institution in September 2022.

Mrs. Violet Edwards has made history for Jamaica and in the world as one of the oldest persons to receive an associate degree.

This is great! It's never too late unless you believe it is. It probably has a lot to do with her environment as well. That push. Would a Jamaican here take on this task? Probably not. As a Jamaican overseas this is still seen as a Jamaica's accomplishment but is there an hidden message?
