Yasus Afari – The People’s Poet, is the Founder-Director of SenYAcum Edutainment, Jamaica Poetry Festival, Poetry in Motion and the Art of Life Magazine, among others. As an Intuitive Philosopher Poet, Dub Poet, Author, Artistic Edutainer, Cultural Practitioner, Lecturer, Youth Empowerment Specialist, Performance Poet and Cultural Entrepreneur, Afari seek to develop sustainable Initiatives in support of Nation-Building, Social Health, Social Harmony, Social Responsibility, Social Advocacy and Empowerment

Yasus is often describes as The Travelling Poet, Rastafari Ambassador and Jamaica’s National Treasure. He is an International Jewel and Rasta Reggae World Traveller with the Revolutionary Will to Kill Poverty, Ignorance and Injustice, while Awakening Vigilant Vibrations with Poetic Alchemy, Words Sounds and Power.

Social Advocacy Through Poetree - Yasus Afari was instrumental in the Government of Jamaica’s Culture Agency Programme, Jamaica Day Celebration and the Policy Document on Cultural Entrepreneurship and Cultural Tourism. Yasus also made history by represented Rastafari, Jamaica and the Caribbean at the Parliament of the World’s Religion in Melbourne, Australia and the Global Cooperative Forum in Switzerland. Via the support of the Canada Arts Council, he helped with the historic with the North South Griot Summit in Toronto. Afari is instrumental in the global initiatives of the UK based Learning Links International in supporting the UK’s Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education (SACRE), Penal Reform, Mental Health, Black History Research. He provides resource support to Oxford University for its series on Religious Studies in the Caribbean… Stay tunes for his upcoming album and anthology!

  1. How can someone kill poverty without first Educating the People. He & everyone MUST SUPPORT COMPULSORY EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION.
