Convicts Can Have Social Media Accounts?

Promoting The Devil.
Promoting evil in the land!

It pains my heart to have to post this but I do this to protest the promotion of convicts in Jamaica. Can an incarcerated person maintain a social media account for themselves or can someone maintain it for them while they are in prison?  There should be major penalties for anyone who maintains a social media account for a convicted person. It seems to me that convicts are now enjoying the same rights as persons who are not in  custody!

These convicted men are taking the state and the people of this country for fools. Government must act now to deal with this matter. The people must stand up and stay we must stop promoting convicted criminals.

The Prime Minister at his party's conference on the weekend, assured us that action will be taken against warders who facilitate certain things for those in their custody in the penal system. We should ensure that if persons in custody are caught committing an offence while in custody, then they should serve double the time they were sentenced for.

Join the campaign to ensure that prisons do not continue to enjoy the same privileges as ordinary citizens do. Time to take Jamaica back from the hands of the criminals. Add your comments and make sure that your voice is heard. Send your voice mails to (876) 816-5261.

The modern thinking is that incarceration is meant to rehabilitate persons. As such, what incarcerated persons are deprived of is their liberty.
The real question should be, are we rehabilitating our incarcerated persons to rejoin society as productive members of society or as hardened criminals with a bone to pick?

So how does one define liberty? Freedom to order and manage activities when incarcerated?

Why are convicts not working? Their life is cushy as they loll around in prison. One most privileged records his songs and gets them out and maintains super stardom and is a multi millionaire.

It is a continuation of the mis-management of the Jamaican society. The Authorities cannot manage crime, cannot manage cities and towns, cannot manage indiscipline. This is a "free for all" country.

Problem with expecting these measures to be a deterrent is so few of them get there is the first place.
