SpotOn on Wednesday, May 24
Rev. Dr. Alvin Bailey

My special guest on Wednesday. May 24, 2023, will be Rev. Dr. Alvin Bailey. Recently he spoke out about the increase given in salaries to members of the political directorate and also to some public servants.

He is a graduate of the Caribbean Graduate School of Theological, Jamaica. and the Columbia Theological Seminary, Atlanta GA. Rev. Bailey is the President of the Bishop Holiness Christians Church, President of the Jamaica Evangelical Alliance. and Vice President of the Evangelical Association of the Caribbean.

I have been trying to get other political leaders to join me to discuss this matter so hopefully in the near future we will hear from them also.

Wendel Wilkins - Lawyer

Andre Monteith - IT Specialist

We will also have IT specialist Andre Monteith for Technology Talk and Wendel Wilkins for The Law and You.

Demonstration in Mandela Park

A number of church groups gathered in Mandela Park to protest the increase in salaries for public officials. My informants told me that there were persons attending the demonstration who used the occasion to let it be known that they objected to the UWI gender policy document and an online Jamaican form that asks persons to state if they are male, female, binary, or other. The online document wanted persons to give their date of birth which many felt was unnecessary for placing an order for something.

Am trying very hard to figure out ๐Ÿค” what I the world ๐ŸŒ was our leaders was thinking, when they had make such a heartless deal. Can we go to China and do what they done out here? What is going to be giving away next? I wonder!

    1. First you must ensure that you are playing your part to initiate change. For example, have you shared this blog to about 100 persons?

    2. I have shared but not to 100 persons... Jamaicans only care about their own immediate needs..as long as they have food, roof and car..dem good..

  3. Are we asking the pm and cabinet members to take a salary less than the chief justice, judges, school principals etc? Let us get real. The discussion must be a reduction of all those other public servants

  4. Are we asking our public servants to take penies as salary to manage a trillion dollar budget and make decisions that affect millions of lives? We need to be real. What is a just and rightious salary for this level of responsibility? Is the job of a Minister of Finance equivalent to a teacher or principal? Being a politician is like a self inflicted wound.

  5. To be honest; why a only the Prime Minister alone did not take his new over 200 % increase . Something still no right! Everyone must retract this type of blatant and bareface Pay Hike. Most of us are not getting any in Westmoreland, Teachers are still in problems with their pay. The Roads in Kentucky in Westmoreland need fixing and so much problems in our little country and they are so blind to these problems. Anytime you ask for important things to be fix. Government tell us, them no have it. You see as long as a fi business money ๐Ÿ’ฐ start to drop off the tress. Can we have leaders who listens to and hear from God in heaven and stop listening to the prince of the air. I hope I had made my point very clear. Am now off the Air.

  6. People make individual choices about what they support by way of comment on blogs or purchases. Some fashion is a hit some total failure.
