August 3l, 2023 – The St. Catherine North Police have issued a request for Antwone Grey otherwise called ‘Badfowl’ or ‘Bright’, a tiler of Dover district, Redwood Linstead, St. Catherine, who they believe can assist with an ongoing investigation in the Linstead area to report to the Linstead Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) immediately.
Antwone Grey is asked to report by 6:00 p.m., on Friday, September 1 or make contact at 876-985-9070, the 119 Police Emergency number, Crime Stop at 311 or call the nearest police station
ANANDA ALERT ACTIVATED FOR MISSING TEEN
August 31, 2023 - An Ananda Alert has been activated for 17-year-old Gabriel Johnson otherwise called ‘Gabby’ a ward of the state of the Yadel’s Girls Home, Old Harbour, St. Catherine who has been missing since Wednesday, August 23.
She is of dark complexion, medium build and about 154 centimetres (5 feet 1 inch) tall. Reports from the Old Harbour Police are that about 2:30 p.m., Gabriel was last seen at the facility wearing a blue T-shirt, a blue jeans and a pair of Nike slippers. She has not been heard from since. Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Gabriel Johnson is asked to contact Old Harbour Police at 876- 983-2255, 119 Police Emergency number or the nearest police station.
JAGTF CONDUCTING OPERATIONS IN NEW HAVEN, KINGSTON – CASH SEIZED; TWO WOMEN ARRESTED
August 31, 2023 – In the early hours of Thursday, August 31, members of the Joint Anti-Gang Task Force (JAGTF) executed a meticulously planned operation in Riverside Drive, New Haven, Kingston 20, resulting in significant breakthroughs in ongoing efforts to locate and apprehend wanted individuals.
During the operation, the team entered a premises, where they uncovered significant evidence of alleged criminal activity. The search resulted in the discovery of stashes of money discreetly concealed within dresser drawers, interspersed among items of clothing. Money was also located in gift bags atop a chest of drawers, and coins were found organized in small plastic bags atop a chest of drawers. Receipt books, alongside the discovery of a money-counting machine were also seized, indicating the potential scale of financial transactions.
Two women have been apprehended on reasonable suspicion of involvement in illegal lottery activities, possession of criminal property, and money laundering.
This successful operation underscores the unwavering commitment of JAGTF to ensure community safety and combat illicit activities. The investigation remains ongoing, and further updates will be provided as new developments arise.
MULTIPLE CHARGES LAID AGAINST MEN FOR GREGORY PARK
August 31, 2023 – Deputy Commissioner of Police Fitz Bailey revealed that charges have been laid against two men following the fire-bombing and gun attack, which resulted in the shooting death of 28-year old Reneel Haughton, otherwise called ‘Rum Punch’, along Walkers Avenue in Gregory Park, St. Catherine on Friday, August 12.
Twenty-four-year-old Nigel McLarty, mechanic of Christian Pen and 21-year old Odane Fowler otherwise known as ‘Pop Chow’, of Portmore Villa both in the parish were charged with:
Murder (2 counts)
Arson (10 counts)
Possession of Prohibited Weapon
Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition
Being a Member of a Criminal organization
Facilitating Serious Offences by a Criminal Organization
Using a Firearm to Commit a Scheduled Offence
Knowingly Aiding and Abetting the Carrying out of a Serious Offence by a Criminal Organization
Reports are that about 3:50 a.m. on the aforementioned date, armed men invaded Walkers Avenue where they opened gunfire at Hospital where death was confirmed and 72-year-old Niomi Gocul who also sustained injuries in the said attack succumbed on Monday, August 21.
On Wednesday, August 30, McLarty and Fowler who were held and charged in relation to a separate matter were formally interviewed in the presence of their Attorneys and later charged for these offences.
MISSING TEEN RETURNS HOME
August 31, 2023 –Fourteen-year-old Micaela Barclay, a student of the Deanery Road, Kingston who has been missing since Monday, August 28 has returned home. She is said to be in good health.
