Visit Supermarkets with Small Areas for Cashing Items

Cashier area at Hilo in Liguanea

Supermarkets generally have a large area to place your goods at the cashier. Because the area is large, you will find other customers do not wait until you have finished cashing your items before they start putting their items in the cashier area. The Hilo Supermarket in Liguanea has a very small cashing area, so only one person can be at the cashier at any time.

I was cashing my goods at the cashier and this brother was so close to me that I wondered if he was going to hug me up. I must admit, I hate people getting close to me especially when I do not know them. I cannot understand why people have to stand so close to one another when they have to line up to get a service. It is not a healthy feeling to be close to someone especially if the person has forgotten to use their deodorant before they left their home.

There is a very serious danger of having persons close to you when you are paying for your items. There are persons who just want to see how much money you have and also look at the number that you are inputting for the cashier to have access to your card. Their goods can also be mixed with your goods, and you end up paying for items you did not intend to purchase.

In future, when you go to the supermarket. unless it is your spouse, you do not need anybody close to you. Ask the person to wait until you have completed your transaction with the cashier. Play it safe next time.

  1. I had a similar experience recently, and I wondered if the young lady thought I was about to topple over. However, my experiences prior to becoming a senior citizen kicked in and I clutched my handbag for dear life. I found the behaviour annoying and not supporting good hygine.
The fact that we are still experiencing COVID social distancing is a must.
