Corporal Rohan James, Police Federation Chairman - Has Broken his Silence!

The following is a statement from the Corporal Rohan James to the members of the Police Federation:

Corporal Rohan James
Chairman of the Police Federation.

Good morning Colleagues

"All Great Changes are Preceded by Chaos" Deepak Chopra.

Having the opportunity and luxury of time on my hands, I  managed to go through all the messages and emails. Most of these messages are extending support and confidence in the quality of leadership on behalf of the Rank and File Memberships well-being and welfare. I am grateful for the outpouring of love and support in this period of adversity.

However, the issue of an overtime system, which is an order of the court has still not been complied with. This has left several Colleagues feeling as if they are in an abusive relationship with the Jamaica Constabulary Force.  To put it mildly, while I am being victimized for doing what is honorable for the membership and public at large; those in authority well paid, continues to obstruct the welfare quest of Rank and File members.

The sad reality is that the Gazetted officers' welfare issues continues to be championed by the Police Officers Association.

The blatant victimization by High Command is not only impacting overtime payment but obstructing my crucial involvement to complete the process of the compensation review anomalies with the government of Jamaica.  Every strata of society should be concerned about this blatant defiance of a court's order and the likely consequential effect on even our colleagues that performs close protection duties and other critical areas of deployment.

Colleagues,  unfazed by the uncaring nature and approach to intimidate or muzzle your duly elected Chairman of the Jamaica Police Federation, the Central Committee will continue to have my unwavering commitment to ensure the successful completion of outstanding issues at the negotiation table.

Let me appeal to you to be steadfast, undaunted, staying the course as we will never be defeated once UNITY exist.

The gains made would not be possible had my stewardship with firm standards not stayed the course. All things are possible to ensure our social economic safety.

I urge members of the Central Executive Committee, desist from undermining the institution called the Jamaica Police Federation.

I wish for you all a great day, with never-ending success.

Regards

Rohan James
