Former JLP Senator Dennis Meadows and the Integrity Commission

Look at the above X post. This is an interesting post by a politician which I would like the lawyers to help me understand. Would all assets owned by the PM or his wife be considered communal property?

If you have a married couple or a common-law relationship, would they be required to submit a joint report to the Integrity Commission or separate reports?

The Prime Minister in response to questions asked by journalists, gives the impression that it is his report that is outstanding and he is the person to whom additional questions were sent by the Integrity Commission.

Finally, if our political leaders put all their assets in a trust, would they still have to report their assets to the Integrity Commission? I believe that when one becomes a Prime Minister one's assets should be placed in a trust. This would possibly eliminate the conflict of interest between the role of the Prime Minister and being a businessman. The case of the head of the NWC being involved in business activities which involve dealing with the same organization which he heads could be seen as a conflict of interest. It probably would be a good idea for persons in such positions to have their assets in a trust.

What do you think?
