Scandalous Claims About Why Montego Bay Tax Office was Temporarily Re-Located

Unknown man making scandalous claims

The General Elections are just around the corner and spinners on all sides are hard at work. Someone posted a video about the Montego Bay Tax Office being abandoned. The misinformer has skillfully used social media to give the impression that the government has closed the tax office in Montego Bay. This he says was done to put money into the hands of a JLP supporter by locating the office at this JLP supporter's premises.

We are aware of the concept of the sick building syndrome. The Cornwall Regional Hospital and other government buildings fell into this category. If your assets such as equipment and buildings are not properly maintained, they will fall into disrepair. Jamaica's economy has been very feeble for some time and therefore we have been unable to maintain our infrastructure.

The Montego Bay Tax Office was temporarily relocated to the Montego Bay Freeport. This action was taken because the current location became unhealthy for the workers and clients. Molds had developed in the building. This information was made public and was posted on the JIS site

If the workers had continued to work under those conditions, taxpayers could become liable for any harm these workers could suffer. The Finance Minister indicated that the tax office was relocated to allow for the renovation of the tax building.

In his 2023 Budget Presentation, the Minister of Finance and the Public Service outlined the plans for the temporary relocation of the tax office. Announcements were also made for upgrading the current location. (See the pictures below taken from his budget presentation)

  2. Normally went a person is in doubt, please check with someone who knows the fact. The government did sent out a public notice about the relocation of the workers because the building was very unhealthy to work in. I pray and hope that it was just a misunderstanding and not a political stunt.

  3. Regardless it seems that this Govament of Anju they have developed a new discipline.
CORRUPTION AND TAX TERRORISM of the Jamaican people.

No new taxes? but look at indirect taxes like traffic tickets Seat belt tickets moved from about Ja$500 to $5000 that's what "Judge 5000" charged me at Camp Road "Traffic Court TaxTerrorism Centre"

The Capitalist classes who are the real/significant political powers need to step up and let their voices be heard.

The nepotistic behaviour is too blatantly brawling.
Let's face it Anju Govament heading for the rocks.

Is it that Anju is so weak and needs the spirit of an Edward Seaga under whose Prime Ministership he was hated for his no nonsense stance within his own party regard any what my mother would call "SLACKY TIDY behaviour.

Say all you want about EPG Seaga no on can say he was hustling the Jamaican people.
No one could say that either about Michael Manley,Bruce Golding,Sista P or P J Patterson.
Look at it the Govament is running the PM Andrew Holness and not the other way around.
Anju put down your foot and run way who fi rin weh and doors the right thing.
Why do you think EPG Seaga had a Joint Ministerial Committee that met once or twice a week ?.
Call him a One man Band or a dictator corruption or nepotism was not tolerated.
Say No to SLACKY TIDY behaviour.
