Principal of St. James High Being Targeted, Why? Part I

Click to play.

Part II

When the news regarding the kissing St. James High School Girls exploded like a bomb, It was the Principal who came under heavy fire. I have been trying to find out what the principal did wrong. People who did not know the story said he should pack his bag and go.

Many were willing to lose good principals for troubled maker students in our schools.

Recently another Principal came under pressure because he took a stand against his students coming to school with bags labeled dunce. I gather that he has since left his post and is overseas. His name is Dr. Ankle and I taught him at Papine High School.

The feedback I am getting is that school administrators, teachers and students are tired of the indiscipline behaviour in our schools.

It was reported that a Principal was stabbed at Quickstep Preparatory School in St. Mary and I have not heard anything about this stabbing from the human rights defenders.

A school should not be a holding area for young thugs, gangs and criminals. Teachers are not warders and police officers. We must find somewhere to house these young thugs, gang members and criminals

We could start to clean up things by requiring every child to have a mother and a father. When a minor commits an offence their parents should be made to pay the fine.

After listening to this principal who has been making a difference you should ask yourself:

  • Does it matter to me?
  • Should I stand up and add a comment?
  • Should I do something about the state of our educational system?

The young people are our future. I look at the future and it is looking bad! Please share this blog so others can hear the other side of the story.

  1. If the young people continue the way they are going the future is very, very dark

  3. If the Auditor General's report on the levels of financial misconduct at the governmental level (including the Min of Education) is anything to go by, the head of the stream is where the purge ought to begin. Too many of us still loyal to party more than nation.

  5. Kicking the girls out of school for a kiss is not the solution. As far as I'm aware they were not being violent or aggressive. Surely a milder punishment would be appropriate if they were not repeat offenders.

  6. Princioals/teachers need our support. We are giving them basket to carry water! If parents cant control them rhem, why should teachers be expected to act as correctional officers?

  7. This is not surprising at all, am not condoning any bad behavior from our teacher's or the head of faculty at our schools. Even thou our students can be very rude and violent at times. We still must learn how to pacifie these situations as they arise. We do not! Need to overreact and give a more severe punishment, for a minor incident. We will cause all unnecessary problems. Where there is no problem. We need to get it right and stop the fuss and fight.

  8. I believe he could have dealt with the issue more diplomatically and as such should have referred the girls for guidance counseling and behavioral modification. I'm wondering if the boys they were fighting in Half-Way-Tree are still in school, or the boy that beat his classmate at Glenmuir or the girls that had that big drag down fight recently!

  9. My information from various sources is that the matter was properly dealt with. There was a meeting from last year with parents, the girls, guidance councellors and others. It would not be in the girls I merest to remain at the school. They were called deportees. the Learning environment for them would have been difficult. One parent decided to make a. National issue of the matter. Now all know the story. It might even affect her getting g a job later on in life.
