On Sunday, August 19, 2024, there was flooding in various areas of Toronto due to the heavy downpour of rain. Flights were delayed at the Toronto Pearson International Airport. The roof at the airport was leaking during the heavy showers.
The emergency services were kept busy rescuing persons stranded in their cars and parking lots.
There were advisories of tornado, severe thunderstorm and rainfall warnings
News media sources report that some locations saw 100 millimetres of rain on Saturday afternoon in Canada. Between 1991 and 2020, Toronto usually gets from 68.5 to 71.9 millimetres of precipitation in August.
Check with your airlines if you intend to travel to Canada on Monday, August 19, 2024.
