US Seized President's Madura plane

The United States seized Venuezuala's President Madura's private plane in the Dominican Republic. The US authorities determined that the plane's acquisition violated US sanctions, among other criminal issues. The US flew the aircraft to Florida on Monday, September 2, 2024.

This plane is used to transport Madura accross the world. The US has Air Force 1 which is used for official trips for the president. Maduras plane is the equivalent to Air Force 1. This move by the US is unprecedented in taking action against someone who is a head of state, deemed to be involved in criminal activities.

The plane is valued USD13 million.

Son of Policewoman Who Died In The Accident

It is a sad story about that youngster who lost his life in an incident which many felt was avoidable. This happened at Sedburgh in Manchester, Jamaica on Monday, September 2. The police woman is still in the hospital. A few supporters of Bark Di Trute have been checking to find out how the policewoman is doing and they have asked why she has not been transferred to the UWI.

I advised them that if the doctors feel that it cannot be dealt with at the Hospital in Spalding, a decision would be made to tranfer the policewoman to another institution.

Commendations to those citizens who assisted the policewoman and her son. My concern though is that the citizens are not trained nor do they have the equipment to saftely remove an injured person from an accident scene.

Let's hope and pray that Constable Cobrena Crawford of the Christiana Police Station in Manchester make it.

Talented Police Officers

Members of the police band showed the people who turned up to listen to them in the New Haven community in Kingston, Jamaica, that they are talened. It is a pity that the turn out was low. This was due to the pending weather conditions.

I would love to see these talented officers appear in communities across the island so our youths can listen to some uplifting songs. I encourage government and those who head to Jamaica Constabulary Force to continue to support this aspect of the force.

I still recall the first time I heard a big band play was when the Jamaica Defence Force military band came to play at the United Church of Jamaica and Grand Cayman, in Lowe River, Trelawny.

Terrible Roads in New Haven

Those who complain about bad roads in their communities have never been to New Haven in Kingston. If you saw the roads you would never complain about the roads in your area. There are some lakes in the road - it was raining earlier and these lakes are larger than the Yallas Pond. No man....di place tan bad. I believe that the people in the area have been forgotten.

The mosquito population will soon make it too dangerous for human beings to live in the area. I was told that what I was seeing is minor becaue when there is a heavy downpour of rain and the river overflows its banks, you need boats to traverse the area.

I asked a few citizens who is their MP? Only two said that they know their MP. I believe their response was just a reflection of their feelings. MP Anthony Hylton, send in a petition for us to sign calling for better roads. I will have to support that petition.
