The issue in Sydenham Villa is a very longstanding one. Every time it rains, the residents are on edge, as flooding is almost a certainty.
They need to activate their community citizens' association and demand that the relevant authorities do something about it. This should have been considered when the housing scheme was being designed. Poor planning is a staple of the Jamaican social and political landscape.

The letter, believed to be written by an Education Officer is a prime example of the direction Education is going in. It appears a primary school age child wrote it.

The people don't deserve better because they have not demanded better. If they wanted better political representation, they would have gotten it.

This US election is probably one of the most important elections in the country's history.
On one hand we have a candidate whose agenda doesn't stand to benefit the people and the people are fixated on personality.
On the other hand we have a candidate who is unpopular but has transformative policies that might not be easy to swallow at first but is good medicine.
Never focus on personalities or parties when in election season; focus on policies.
All the relevant sociopolitical economic and cultural realities point to a Trump win.
It would be interesting historically if Kamala upsets the patriarchal apple cart.
