Editor's Note:
There are speculations and confusion in Jamaica about whether the well-known lead singer for Byron Lee and the Dragonaires, Keith Lyn has died. Bark Di Trute will get the information to you as soon as I get an update from the family.

ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteYour beauty bubbles, your sweetness sizzles. And then here comes your warmth.
ReplyDeleteEphesians 4:32 says, "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you".
ReplyDeleteYes, Valentine's Day originated from the pagan festival of Lupercalia, which was celebrated in ancient Rome in mid-February.
ReplyDeleteHow Lupercalia was celebrated
Men sacrificed a goat for fertility and a dog for purification
Men ran around striking women with the hides of the sacrificed animals
Women believed being struck by the hides would make them more fertile
Women's names were placed in a jar, and men drew a name to determine their partner for the festival
How Lupercalia evolved into Valentine's Day
As Romans embraced Christianity, the holiday evolved into one honoring St. Valentine
Pope Gelasius I outlawed Lupercalia in the late 5th century
He designated February 14 as St. Valentine's Day to replace the pagan holiday
Other Valentine's Day traditions
The stylized heart associated with Valentine's Day first emerged in the 14th century
The Roman god of love, Cupid, often adorns Valentine's Day cards
