Unfortunately I disagree with Vernon and the gentleman with the perennial complaint. Richmond Park and areas like Vineyard and Allman towns suffered the same fates of yesteryear. The creep of commercialization. Unfortunately it is a one-way street and all politicians will do is pay lip service to the real thing happening.
ReplyDeleteYou have not said what you disagree with!
DeleteI am 74 and I can remember when Kencot and Maxfield Avenue were "residential" areas. In many ways it is not so much that people are breaking the zonal codes as much as they are advancing their trades and entrepreneurial skills.
ReplyDeleteIn advancing their trades and entrepreneurial skills, they are breaking the law?
ReplyDeleteWe need to put an end to the commercialization of the community as this is causing great destress amongst the residence! They are slowly pushing us out and taking over.
ReplyDeletesorry distress*
DeletePutting an end to the commercialization of residential communities like Richmond Park that horse gone through the gate from at least the 1990s.
DeleteI recall numerous calls on the governmental authorities to no avail as the horse galloped away uncontrollably so.
Many of these homes had lost value si badly that it suited many to sell fast and run.
What is happening elsewhere is people are being encouraged to sell making way for high rise apartments in energy nook and cranny of the city where residential crowding is allowed.
I would love the opportunity to own a property with in the community rather than continuing to rent. However, this is proving to be more difficult in each passing day as once a listing comes up business personnel swoops in and rob many of us of the opportunity to do so.
ReplyDeleteWe need to put an end to that ASAP!
Honestly this is getting annoying, can't these businesses be barred from do this ?!?!
ReplyDeletePlease we are begging for our voices to be heard with positive actions being done.
ReplyDeleteWith the rise on businesses being established in our once peaceful community we are now seeing more robberies and attempted break-ins.
ReplyDeleteYes I saw the man of unsound mind laying right in-front of my gate one of these mornings while I was about to leave out. I was so frightened I went fright back inside and waited until he left.
ReplyDeleteThe gas filling place within a residential community is so unsafe!!!! Can you imagine if there is a fire?? Who really approved that?
ReplyDeleteMercy
ReplyDeleteMr. Tabois forgot to speak about the speeding and reckless driving that occurs within the community. This is extremely unsafe as we have about three prep schools within the area. I believe that we need speed bumps on some of these roads especially the ones that the schools are located on.
ReplyDeleteWe need our peaceful community of Richmond park area back. Not against anyone an their business, but residential means residential only. We all know is money do this thing but we can't on getting this area back the way it was
ReplyDeleteI'm 20 and as a real youth of the streets the community needs to remain as a community. The commercializing of the community is sad because places that you grow up and see and dream to live there, are now some weird businesses. It's not like they even making more apartments with the places they buying out. But yo... leave communities alone mon. Go to HWT and set up shop or go within the business areas. Plus we need to do something about the taxi men. Every week them in some random avoidable accidents.
ReplyDeleteI totally agreeπππππ
