Life Certificate Requirements Killing Pensioners

Jamaicans who receive pension payments from the National Insurance Scheme and the Accountant General's Department have to submit life certificates periodically. This is to ensure that payments are being made to persons who are alive.

There have been complaints about this system of submitting these life certificates. Bark Di Trute wants you to give your impressions of the system and make suggestions to improve it.

  1. Every six months SUBMISSION wouldn't be so onerous...OR...plus a the life certificate is sent to our phones..couldn't a response from the said phone be sufficient

  3. Mine NIS comes to the post office sometimes. When it does not come if I do not go to the office to get it the little pittance is stopped.. Thanks for highlighting this source of discomfort fo our seniors.

  4. I deliberately call it my "Death Certificate" (DC). They start telling me I am in the wrong place should go to the Administrator Department to submit my DC.

The workers are fine they try to do their best considering they do not gave political power.

He who has economic power has real political power so there is need to get on board a Mr Matalon ,Lee Chin,Kevin OBrian Chang, or even Mr Hendrickson.
Once those Big Dogs Bark you get action.

The Average old hip paining osteo- arthritic pensioner does not have an impact.

As of now No pensioner should receive less than the minimum wage set to move to $16000 per week or $64,000 per month.

Many pensioners with the little pittance live sometimes like hungry, weak malnourished Mongrel dogs just putting the best outside.

Imagine JPS light cut off, Telephone services off,NWC water cut off, medical bills unpaid , and menial grocery bills unpaid. This is a tragedy Mr Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition

Many were pedigree hard working persons/Civil Servants who gave their all for this country. ,heroes, patriots, nationalists.
Now many are abandoned and discarded and dumped like infkated garbage.
People it hurts physically and psychologically.

These corrections must be made now Mr Holness make this one of your legacies I am sure will be supported by the serene and focused Minister of Finance Mrs Fayval Williams.

In reality only the mercy of God keeps many pensioners alive.Praise the Lord and saviour.
