Males Coming Together To Uplift One Another

Males are having issues, and we suffer in silence. Bark Di Trute is organizing a group for males to do some of the following:

  • Discuss relationship issues, such as abusive relationships, divorce, and marriage.
  • Give information about issues affecting males, such as prostate enlargement and prostate cancer.
  • Dealing with aggressive behaviour.
  • Have professionals such as doctors, lawyers, and psychiatrists address us about issues affecting males.

Great things will come out of this movement for males to deal with our issues.

We encourage the women to get their spouses to join this progressive group of males working to make us better, especially for our spouses and our families.

  1. Jamaican Males working together to rescue the Male species from socio economic and political extinction.

Males are the most illiterate, most imprisoned, most murdered. In a country that is the second poorest country in the caribbean and 4th most illiterate.
Jamaica is 88% literacy with females at 93% while males languish at 83%.

In Jamaica, there are concerns about the well-being and challenges faced by males, particularly in areas like LITERACY, education,CRIME health, and socioeconomic opportunities.

Some initiatives focus on supporting males through mentorship programs, education, and community development.

We must learn more about all organizations and initiatives that support males while accessing them in Jamaica. This will be of great help so as not to reinvent any wheels.

Some ways to contribute to supporting males in Jamaica:

    1. *Mentorship programs*: Offer guidance and support to young males through mentorship initiatives.
    2. *Education and skills training*: Provide access to educational resources, vocational training, or workshops to enhance literacy, skills and employability.
    3. *Community development*: Participate in community projects that promote positive masculinity, health, and well-being.
    4. *Volunteer work*: Volunteer with organizations that support males in areas like education, health, and rehabilitation.
    5. *Advocacy*: Raise awareness about issues affecting males and advocate for policies and programs that support their well-being.

    Some potential organizations to consider:

    1. *Boys' Town Jamaica*: A residential facility for vulnerable boys.
    2. *Jamaica Combined Cadet Force*: A youth organization that promotes leadership and discipline.
    3. *Local community centers*: Many community centers offer programs and services supporting males.

    1. It will be interesting to see how many persons respond. Sometimes I get tbe impression that all the society wants from the men is to provide funds for the family.

  2. An important issue is taking responsibility for their family especially children who are being neglected because he is no longer in a relationship with the mother. Your child is your responsibility. A lot of boys are being brought up by mothers only, so they don’t know how to be man when they are grown adults.
