It is unacceptable that as we celebrate a downward trend in murders Jamaica is still the most murderous on the planet earth 47/100,000 for a population of approximately, 3,000,000.
I noted Singapore a population of 6.2 million had 2 murders in 2024 they are very concerned and vow to eliminate murder,In 2023 they had 4.
Many things need to change as there and most notable is the song and dance that big up murder and murderers.
This has to be the epitome of uncivilization.
The 13,000 police alone cannot rein in the society.There needs to be laws that makes the promotion of murder music an offence punishable by law.
The express trials and execution of guilty murderers must be implemented with urgency.
That nonsense of nuturing/rewarding guilty murderers with 50 years living sentence is an unfair burden to society.At US$10,000 per year amounts to US$500,000 is utter stupidity.
At today's rate that is approximately Ja$80,000,000 multiply that By the number of guilty murderers is a grossly unfair burden being put on the people by the managers of the ligitimate sector of the Crime Industry.
Time to reject the Crime Industry as a leading sector accounting for about 10% of GDP.It surpassed Agriculture at 9% only surpassed by Tourism and remittances as Jamaica being the secondbpoorest country in the Caribbean with a per capita GDP of US$6700.Haiti the poorest at US$1700
Barbados is the wealthiest with US$23,000.
Wake-up and be productively civilized Jamaica no more the uncivilized world renowned murderous Criminals paradise..
