I heard Mr. Peter Bunting making some horrible statements about the government's move to take over the transportation of our children. Mr. Bunting, time for you to get divine intervention.
No, No, No, Mr. Bunting! This is taking it too far. We cannot be telling people that buses are being introduced to kill off people's children. Mr. Bunting, tone it down. I love the arguments in politics, but this one is a very low blow.
Mr Mark Golding responded appropriately with another solution for transporting our children, and I heard Mr. Crawford pushing that same line to allow the current bus operations to run the system. I definitely disagree. I have seen what our children have been subjected to over the years, and to use the PNP term, 'time come' when children should not be herded into vehicles like hogs and goats.
I see the JLP sending out some pictures of the PNP proposed transportation system for students. Part of the video is shown below.

I was going to write about Mr. Warmington's colourful speech at a JLP meeting recently, but he apologized before I put pen to paper. Warmington is no fool, but sometimes when he blows his top like a volcano, it irks some of us.

Vernon, I am surprised at you for publishing this video with Mark Goldings voice over it to suggest that this is the system that the PNP has in mind to transport the children to school. You know better than this.

DeleteGood read. I agree. Another thing to look into is how much students pay for fares in rural Jamaica as opposed to persons in the urban settings. The students have to pay full adult fare in rural Jamaica. My tax dollars are best served as subsidy for the future of my country towards a state entity which will take them to and from school at a equal rate to persons in urban area.
ReplyDeleteYour former high school had a school bus system/arrangement, how many students were killed or injured that you know of? When they got the buses with the doors on the right side, were they out into use? Do you recall any of them traversing Knox hill easily?

From those days, I knew the importance of a school bus system. They could have even put the doors on the top of the buses. Students travelled in style. We reached school on time. We could not misbehave on the buses. The driver was like an extended member of the school staff.
DeleteThis discussion is not about Vernon Derby. How does my political bias get into this? You need to read with understanding. I certainly did not comment on which side of the bus the door is on. I am aware that that will be dealt with. I have allowed you to express yourself on a blog which has between 40,000 to 50,000 views each month. Use the opportunity well.
DeleteAm not a friend of any politician. However; am try to figure out what Is wrong with improving our current bus 🚌 system? When the previous buses were been stoned and people getting hurt and people have to hiding from rocks in order not to get hurt. Why Mr Bunting and Mr Glodig never came out and stand up against the evil that has been plaguing our transporting system like how they are behaving now? They are not taking responsibility for their distasteful actions. They need to take some serious time ⏲️ out and come to a mutual understanding that both P's must work together so our country can be more vibrant and strong 💪. It time for us to work together as one and build up our country. Please do not tear it down!
