Jamaica is a country of extremes. We are a homophobic country, they say, yet some of the most popular and loved people in this country are known homosexuals.
It is said that we have more churches per square mile than any other country in the world, yet we promote dons and criminals. Jamaica has become a criminal's paradise.
We make deafening noises about corruption in our country, and yet many of us only have a problem with corruption when we have not benefited from it.
We have more laws than stones in a river, and yet, undisciplined behaviour is now seen as part of our culture.
Many of us talk about the truth, yet we constantly consume a daily diet of fake news from social media. I wonder what that says about those of us who consume the strange things coming from some of these mentally strange social media commentators.
Those eminent lawyers who believe that having more laws will stop those mentally deranged social media writers from feeding us a diet of fake news are living in a fool's world. If people love to hear gossip and fake news, then laws alone will not stop those who provide the daily tongue-lashing and juicy gossip.
That brings me to the issue of the new school bus system. We hear so many horrible things about these school buses from people who are supposed to know better. Elections are around the corner, and the school bus system to be introduced by the government is a winning stroke. The Opposition party also wants power, and it is expected that they will want to see if any hanky-panky is going on. My challenge is that there have been some individuals on social media who have become financial and political analysts overnight, and people are just falling for the rubbish they are publishing. There is one in particular who has psychological issues, and people believe every word he says.
I remember one artist saying to me that when he sings uplifting songs, people do not gravitate towards them, but when he goes under the woman's dress, it is a hit.
I support this school bus system for our children, and I do not care which party introduces it because it is a winner. We need to ensure that the new system hits the street with a bang in September.
Students should not be allowed to take other buses because they want to listen to the nasty music and also participate in certain sexual activities on other buses. We must have a system where, if students misbehave on the bus, they are excluded from travelling for a while. Those who damage the buses and fight on the buses should be treated just like any criminal, and they and their parents should pay dearly for their deeds.
Jamaica needs order, and we can start with a school bus system for our children, who should be able to travel in style and behave appropriately. They should not have any excuse for arriving late for school unless the bus is late. People who cannot take their children to school in the family car can hopefully have peace of mind with a properly organized bus system for children.
Finally, those of us who mean our country well should separate the politics from the politrics. Those with good memories will remember the Dino Bus Scandal. I therefore have no problem with the opposition party asking questions. Nuff said!

I know Sen Bunting is an engineer. As such he should know better than to be chatting the rubbish about school bus old school bus. It is obvious he and his Business Partner are so hungry for power they are ready to turn Jamaica upside down with lies and really no consideration for the safety of our children to be making the ludicrous suggestions as to how our they should be speeding around in second hand Probox from Japan without seatbelts getting ready to add to the death toll on the roads.
ReplyDeleteI am grateful for the school bus system...you know why? Whenever I take one of those coasters which you have to (five-up)..5 people in one row no matter the size and the poor Schoolers have to stand between each person just to balance with there bags falling asleep as soon as that bus starts to drive...it is not easy. No wonder they cannot retain anything in their little brains.
ReplyDeleteWell said 👏.
ReplyDeleteJamaica is story book place. We are driven by greed, we don't care about each other. So long as we benefit to hell with the other person.
ReplyDeleteTalk about the churches they live by their own commandments ME ME ME.TRUTH is just a part of the Jamaican psychy
Ño sensible person is against a well Organized school bus system. What is questionable is the AGE of the buses and the cost of converting them to have Doors opéning on the left
ReplyDeleteIf I was a gambling person I would place a safe bet, that all of those people who are fighting down the School Bus.
ReplyDeleteTheir children does not have to take a School Bus.
SELF EXPLANATORY.
SCHOOL Bus has become a regular part of our vocabulary, what a wonderful experience.
I have spent the past 17 years fundraising for our children in Northern Clarendon, who spends countless hours waiting for transportation to get them to school and back home.
If they are lucky to get a ride home.
We have financed those cost, so we know the benefits that this program brings to the suffering people.
Unfortunately some of those same parent will not be giving their votes to the party that is responsible for this wonder initiative.
They simply refuse to vote.
However for some reason many of our people are unable to embrace PROGRESS.
We prefer to complain that the minimum wage is unable to sustain them, as opposed to enrolling in those wonderful opportunities that now exist with the heart trust program. And elevating themselves and their family's above the minimum wage Plato.
We live in hope.
I often wonder why it’s only when election is near that these politicians seem to do the people job. What were they doing all these years.
