I just got word that St. James High School has improved its maths passes from 14% to 44%. I do hope that Jamaica for Justice will comment on this. Every child has a right to learn. That is a right that Jamaica for Justice and others should fight for our children. Congratulations to the principal and staff of St. James High for the tremendous work that has been done at the school, especially during the past year.
Jamaica For Justice came down heavily on the principal because, as a leader, he had to deal with an untenable situation of two female students seen kissing in a video. The principal was made out to be someone who does not believe in human rights. Up until this day, no one has apologized nor spoken to the principal of St. James High for how he was treated.
It is interesting to note that the school has done well even without a functioning school board. Sometimes it is better to have no board than a bad board.
Bark Di Trute encourages the students, parents, and teachers of St. James High to be united in the move to produce outstanding citizens. We hope to get more information from the principal, and we look forward to a new board to be appointed. It should be headed by a chairman with a vision. A chairman who does not believe he is a principal and goes on the radio to make negative comments about the operational head. The school needs a chairman who gives hope and opens doors to greater possibilities.

ReplyDeleteI am not sure what the improved performance in math has to do with two girls being expelled for a kiss. How many has he been principal? The real reason for the improvement in math should studied and duplicated in other schools.
ReplyDeleteUse the web view and search the blog for more information and also search generally on the Internet. The girls were not expelled. Arrangements were made to have them attend other schools due challenges with the environment.
