The US is making it tougher for people to become citizens of that country. People will be required to answer several civics questions about the USA, including questions about its government and the history of the country.
Checks will be made to see if potential citizens are of good character. Community members, employers and others could be interviewed to get information about the potential citizens.
What is uncertain at this point is that, according to Newsweek report, if one fails the civics test twice, then citizenship will be denied. Does that mean your green card will be withdrawn? This could have serious implications for spouses especially.
The new system begins on October 20, 2025, for those who file their N-400 forms on or after that date.

Citizenship and permanrnt residency are not the same. The civics test is for naturalization to become a US citizen. Did you see news of Congress changing the requurements for a green card (peemanent residency)? Has a civicsbtest requirement been put in place? Pleass share that information.
