The English language has died after suffering for many years from multiple injuries. The court has ruled that it was difficult to find anyone guilty because everyone was guilty.

ReplyDeleteThe “would have” trend is killing me. It’s hard to understand because it is so much more complex than the simple past tense. I certainly don’t know where it started.
Perhaps the appeal is that its complexity sounds sophisticated.
All speech writers and news editors should ban it.
