The Case Of The Dead Judge Must Be Thorougly Investigated

I must admit that I am one of those who are becoming sceptical about information disseminated by some agents of the state. Someone has died in mysterious circumstances, and there is talk about suicide! Why was there such a big secret about what happened, and why did the Falmouth police confirm this incident to some media houses and not to others? When I checked about the incident, the police said that they were not aware of the death of the judge. I am in Kingston, and I got information about the death, and the police were not aware of it. The news was widespread in Trelawny.

Something is not right. Did the judge threaten to commit suicide before, and was any action taken to deal with this challenge? When someone says they will commit suicide, believe them. The question is, is it really a suicide or was the judge murdered? Already, talk is going around about obeah and how some people wanted her out of the way.

Was she forced to drink a poisonous liquid? Was she at home alone, and where was her spouse? Who found the body? What action did that person take? Was she being abused at home, and did this push her over the edge?

I just remembered the case of the politician's wife who died in her sleep, and then, sometime after, we heard that she was shot in the vagina. I certainly would not trust the Falmouth police to investigate this matter. I believe that the police misled me when I sought information from them yesterday.

I find it interesting that apparently, the police have no problem giving information to some people but not to others. Something is not smelling right in terms of the media and some officers.

There seems to be more to this story. Note that other professionals in sensitive positions are quietly suffering from various challenges, such as mental and other personal issues. It is for that reason I have been calling for the appointment of social workers who are close to the people and who can identify when people in a community are having challenges. Just having a telephone number to call an office in Kingston is not enough. We need to reach out to the people rather than waiting for them to reach out to us.

Let me close by saying, the police have been doing a great job, but they don't have to do it alone. Many of us can help. Any day the people team up with the police, all bad man haffi lef yah!

  1. I am saddened by these frequent suicides becoming a crisis.
Some years ago I had a discussion with a foreign consultant regarding high levels of suicide in other countries.

    His response :
"dont worry, Jamaicans don't kill themselves they kill other people ".

Has that changed, noted by an alleged downturn in murder but an upturn in suicide.
If given a choice which would you choose:
    "murder up suicide down"
    or
    "suicide up murder down".
What approach could be taken to have both murder and suicide down or eliminated.
We must pay attention to our loved ones friends and associates 1st order of business.

Reducing murder and suicide in Jamaica requires a multi-faceted approach that involves government agencies, community organizations, and individuals. Here are some strategies that could help:

Increase funding for mental health services, including counseling and therapy sessions, to help individuals cope with trauma, stress, and other emotional challenges.

The Ministry of Health and Wellness' mental health and suicide prevention helpline (888-NEW-LIFE/639-5433) is a good starting point.

Organize community events, workshops, and programs that promote social cohesion, conflict resolution, and emotional intelligence.

Invest in youth programs that provide mentorship, education, and job training to help young people develop life skills and build resilience.

Foster trust between law enforcement and the community through transparency, accountability, and community policing.

Implement data-driven policing strategies to identify hotspots, patterns, and trends in crime.

Ensure that the justice system is fair, efficient, and effective in addressing violent crime.

    Social and Economic Development
Implement policies and programs that address poverty, inequality, and unemployment, which are often underlying factors in violent crime.

Provide access to education and job training programs that equip individuals with skills to secure employment and improve their socio-economic status.

Strengthen social safety nets, including support for vulnerable populations, such as children, women, and the elderly.

    Suicide Prevention by
Promoting mental health awareness and reduce stigma around mental illness through public education campaigns.

Train first responders, healthcare professionals, and community leaders in crisis intervention and suicide prevention.

Provide targeted support for vulnerablegroups at high risk of suicide, such as young people, men, and those with mental health conditions.

    2. Am still trying to come to terms, about the young man that was shot killed in cooled blood, by the Police in Savanna-La-Mar. I was expecting the number one Radio Station in Jamaica. However; I still haven't heard a word about the incident. Can you imagine, I had to go on UTube to get an update on what really happened. Why is this shut out, so silent? This is one of the most Bizarre case, I have ever come across in years, as a resident. So if they heard that someone in any family has treathen someone with a gun 🔫. I thought that would do some top notch investigation, before you wipe out a person and you did not give him or her the opportunity to defend themselves in the Court Of Law. A hope we not going on to Marshall Law. This is really disturbing. When will we get true justice ⚖ about these evil behaviour?
