Bad luck is worse than obeah, and the Miss Universe Competition has been beset with bad luck from day one this year. Recent reports, for example, stated that Miss Universe 2025 walked out of an interview in Mexico.
Raul Rocha, the organisation's president, who is a 50% shareholder, has stated that he wants to sell his stake in Miss Universe.
Many will recall the tense moments between Miss Universe Mexico and pageant executive Nawat Itsaragrisil.
The press release sent out by this international organisation after the Miss Universe Jamaica mishap came across as lacking in real concern, and it was more about public relations.
The contestant for Cote d'Ivoire, Olivia Yace, who was placed in the top five in the competition, resigned as Miss Universe Africa and Oceania. At least two judges resigned
In the meantime, the Miss Jamaica Universe organising committee is silent. More than likely, candidates will not be willing to be a part of the competition for 2026. Could this be the end of the competition in Jamaica and the world? Who will throw a lifeline to save this sinking organization?

Miss Universe Jamaica is supposed to be back in Jamaica now recuperating, but there has been no information released about her current state of health. People continue to speculate about her health.

Miss Ivory Coast did nit have a "good" passport that would have allowed her to travel ANYWHERE if she had won Miss Universe.

DeleteIt's a sad commentary when a top official insults a contestant on worldwide media and worse when another contestant is severely injured and could have died from what is no doubt, carelessness and lack of safety protocols and oversight! Mis Jamaica should be compensated to the tune of millions of damage as she will likely not fully recover from her injuries and have her career, dreams and livelihood severely hampered and even derailed!
