We have some crazy people driving on our roads, but I believe that we also have some crazier people who design and build our roads. The craziest are those who sit down and take it.
I have seen some sticks resembling candlesticks on our roads, which I gather are compliments of the NWA. What are these sticks for? Are they there for decorations?
Have a look at the pictures of these sticks that are placed in the road at Barbican Square, in Kingston, Jamaica.
Probably these sticks are to assist the elderly when they are crossing the roads. The motorists don't seem to like them, and they have been taking them down one by one.
We should paint the medians with reflective paint. When you are driving at night, you cannot see these medians, and if you are not careful, you will run into a median. I believe it would be a better idea to place flashing solar lights at the beginning and at the end of the medians.
We have these thin medians, and we place the streetlights in the middle of the medians. After a few weeks, the motorists remove them.
The NWA—National Wutless Agency—is an interesting place. The head now sits in his rocking chair, enjoying himself. The children are creating havoc with the design of our roads, and Mr. Speaker, Stephen Shaw, whose words are made of honey, is sweet-talking the people. What a life.
We have poorly constructed roads, roads that are poorly maintained, and the poor drivers get blamed for everything. Dr. Lucien Jones, who is the vice chair of the National Road Safety Council, only sees speeding as the problem on our roads. If I had money, I would buy him a new pair of spectacles.
Have a look at a clip from this TVJ newscast below, and let me know if people should not be told to pack their bags and go. Persons should also be charged with attempted murder. I guess that will never happen because the motorists and the public don't care.
Many of us have the energy to be still quarrelling about politics and saying horrible things about political leaders. Yet, we continue to ignore the things that directly affect our lives.
