The Honourable Douglas Vaz.

Mr. Daryl Vaz announced the appointment of a new board chairman for the Transport Authority.

PPV owners will be able to import their own vehicles.

The government will be developing a ride-sharing policy. The taxi associations are expected to participate in the formulation of the policy. This should be finalized by the end of this financial year. In the meantime, ridesharing will not be allowed. 

The ministry is looking into having transport centres for taxis.

The minister addressed the matter of increased fares.

The minister expressed his concerns about road fatalities.
