In the early days, I was suspicious about the circumstances surrounding the death of Melissa. That was a fit-looking woman. I wondered what type of natural cause would have taken her out of this world so early. I believed that whoever killed her was a dutty-cold murderer, and there are many more around. It is a pity that Melissa is dead, and so is the death penalty.
A lovely and beautiful woman is dead, leaving four young children, and the murderer is still alive. Long live the murderers!
Contrary to what some might think, most of us could not do what Jolyan Silvera pleaded to in court today. The man is a former PNP member of Parliament. What an embarrassment for Jamaica and the PNP!.
He should be given an OJ and be nominated for an Oscar award. Di man good!
Come to think of it, I believe that the spirit of Melissa was in Hurricane Melissa on October 28, 2025.
It will be interesting to see how many people comment on this blog.

He said he was innocent and I believed him. I just don’t understand. Didn’t officers investigate the scene and they said it was a suicide of sorts? Why is he pleading guilty to manslaughter? He’s innocent

DeletePoliticians lie, that's what they mostly do. This is a situation that could send him to prison, and you believe Saint Jolyan was honest.
The crime was committed at the home he shared with his wife and kids. In the bedroom at that. If I recall well, he initially said he was away at the time. So, he has strangers going in and out of the home he shares with his family?
They must have security cameras, and the kids probably know more than one would suspect. Does he beat his wife, has a temper, etc. Was it a crime of passion or a part of a bigger plan?
I won't share for anyone, but it looks like another Maitland case. I hope justice prevails so her soul can rest. If he dint do it personally, he's an accomplice, but definitely not innocent.
Bad precedent has been set..karma will avenge Melissa's death.

ReplyDeleteNot sure why it’s a blot on the country or any one political party. A killing is a killing. We don’t ask the political allegiance - past or present - when other people are charged for killing someone.
No different from any other murder.
What was the charge???
I do not think we’ll ever hear the full story. Far less comes out with this plea no rigorous cross examination. Anyone who helped with the cover up goes unscathed. With this plea he will spend less time in jail - if he goes there.
Why manslaughter? That’s even less jail time than murder I suspect.
Who is being protected.
This is such a wicked act my heart hurts, when I watched the funeral and saw the little kids, as a mother I was so emotional, this demon must be given the maximum sentence for such a heinous crime worse inflicted on his own wife and even worse he’s supposedly in his right mind!!!! Dear God we need you right now!!

Be reminded that it was the intuition of an elder PNP statesman who insisted on a deeper and more comprehensive post mortem forensic examination that revealed how she died via ammunition entering her body via her private southern reproductive parts.
In Jamaica's forensics and jurisprudence this might have been the first since Columbus visited Jamaica in 1494.
Further or additional enlightenment would be appreciated.
